The bedroom is where every person spends a third or sometimes even half of his whole day. This is the reason why a huge chunk of the electricity consumed in a home is spent in cooling, lighting up, and powering the bedroom.

Master Electrician British Gas also published an article mentioning the ways to lower electrical consumption in the bedroom. One of the items in the list that they came up with is the use of heating and air conditioning.

"During winter nights, the last thing we want is to be cold in bed. This doesn't have to mean cranking the heating up and leaving it on throughout the night. Warm your bedroom shortly before you plan to go to sleep before turning down the thermostat to avoid wasting energy overnight. Use the timer built into your system to make sure that the room's warm enough, just when you want it to be."
